ALLOW ME FINISH MY TENURE FIRST – WIKE TO 2023 GUBER ASPIRANTS

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has told guber aspirants in the state to allow him finish his current tenure, before justling for the 2023 Governorship ticket.

He issued this statement at the unveiling of the Rumuepirikom Flyover in Obio/Akpor Council.

He also told the aspirants to learn how win voters in Ward 9 of Obio/Akpor Council over so as to benefit from them during elections, through getting their votes as the ward always produced the highest number of votes in the state.

“For all of you queuing up for the governorship position, should hold on and let me finish my tenure. Allow my community to finish its turn. Allow us to enjoy our time in office and thereafter, you can set your own agenda when you come into office,” he said.

The Governor through a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri also threatened to depose any monarch and Community Development Committees (CDCs) leaders that make attempt to extort money from companies handling projects awarded to them by the state government.

Same message was delivered to the youths in the state against disrupting government projects in their communities, stressing that the era in which government overlooked such acts was over as such action will be met with force.

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Onueze C. J. Okocha (SAN), inaugurating the project, described the Rumuepirikom Flyover as a crucial project that would offer utility services beyond the improved aesthetics and ease of movement it would afford.
