A man in army officer’s uniform with the name tag “Stephen I” has been arrested for the murder in cold blood of a man who gave him a ride from Eleme Junction to Ikot Abasi, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It turns out that Mr Stephen I murdered the man and made off with his car, a Toyota Matrix model car.
Reports has it that the Man that was killed offered the said army man a lift at Eleme Junction on his way to Uyo in the hopes that the presence of the military man in his car would mitigate the hassles encountered at the numerous military road blocks along Port Harcourt – Uyo Road. Mr Stephen shot the good Samaritan and made away with his car.
Unbeknownst to Mr Stephen the car had a tracking device and he was tracked to a hotel in Ukanufun LGA and promptly arrested.
According to eyewitness report of a journalist, Mbet Okpongete who was live at the Ikot Akpan Abia Police station, the Nigerian Army has sent their officials to pick up Mr Stephen I, who wears the rank tag of a Sergeant, to be court martialed and then prosecuted according to the Law.
