Yoruba social cultural group, Afenifere early this morning lost its spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin.
The veteran journalist and activist passed on after battling an undisclosed ailment.
The late Yoruba activist has not been enjoying good health.
At the annual lecture in honor of late chief Gani Fawehinmi, he was guarded on both sides by his lieutenants.
The news of his death was made public by fellow Afenifere member,Wale Adedayo on his Facebook page.
It was also corroborated by a close ally.
He was married to a fellow activist, Dr Joe Okei Odumakin.
