BUHARI APPROVES ALLOCATION OF HOUSES TO 1994 SUPER EAGLES AFRICAN NATIONS CUP WINNING SQUAD

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally approved allocation of 3-bedroom houses to the Super Eagles Squad that won the African Cup of Nations in Tunis, Tunisia, in 1994.

The houses were allocated to players and coaches of the team after they won the Nations Cup in 1994, but the government at that time and other governments after that have not fulfilled that promise to the team as some of them have died without receiving the houses promised them.

President Buhari has decided to fulfil the promise to the players this time.

Following a memo by Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the President approved the allocations in their states of preference, noting that six players and three technical crews received their houses already.

Those to benefit are: Peter Rufai, Alloy Agu, Ike Shorounmu, Uche Okechukwu, Samson Siasia, Efan Ekoku, Sunday Oliseh, Benedict Iroha, Isaac Semitoje, Mutiu Adepoju, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Austin Eguavoen, Wilfred Agbonavbare (Deceased), Uche Okafor (Deceased), Thompson Oliha (Deceased), Stephen Keshi (Deceased), Christian Chukwu, Dr Akin Amao, Stephen Edema, Col. A Asielue and B. Aromasodun.

A statement signed by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said on Thursday made this known to the public.
