Cristiano Ronaldo
The ace striker Cristiano Ronaldo was named on the bench for his country for the very first time in fourteen years. As it turns out, his status as a bench player looks like it will be permanent as Ronaldo falls into second choice in the Portuguese line up.
Ronaldo’s future looks bleak, especially in his country club with the emergence of the latest “hot boy” of Portugal, Gonalco Ramos.

Cristiano now Second Option
Ramos, 21, scored a hat-trick in his debut outing in the World Cup against Switzerland. He opened the scoring session in the 6-1 trashing of their Swiss counterparts, making him the second youngest goal scorer in the world after his own countryman Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano did not feature in the match between Portugal and Switzerland because he was absent. It was noted that his absence may not be unrelated to protesting being called off the pitch in a previous match with South Korea. However, his absence provided the opportunity for Ramos to be featured, and he performed excellently.
Today, Cristiano Ronaldo is not in the First-XI starting lineup of the Portuguese team.
