Manchester United Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been advised to drop Cristiano Ronaldo and play a better Edinson Cavani by former Premier League striker, Darren Bent.
Bent proffered this advice after the 5:0 humiliation of Manchester United by Liverpool on Sunday.
Manchester United ended the season on second position last season. So there was optimism following the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United this season and the team was tipped by fans to go for the Premier League title this season, but things have not been going well for them.
After scoring some goals in his debut and subsequent games, it seems that goals have dried up from his boots and he no longer enjoy the support of fans as he used to and they have began to query why Cavani whom whenever he is introduced works harder than Ronald will be languishing on the bench while Ronald fires blank.
Bent who was a former Aston Villa star is of the view that Edinson Cavani will be of great help to Manchester United attacking line than Ronaldo who doesn’t get much involved during matches and wants the gaffer to start Cavani in the next match.
Manchester United fans are of the views that Manchester United chiefs should replace Ole Solskjaer to leave and hire more experienced coach this term.
Bent said: “I think for Ole, he’s got some big decisions to make. If he wants to play this whole pressing game then he might have to bite it a little bit.
”Ronaldo has been good but Edinson Cavani in terms of energy, pressing, working hard from the front, is a far better option than Ronaldo,’ because whenever Cavani comes on, he runs around, he works.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, if he wants to survive much longer in this role he’ll have to start making some big decisions and that includes leaving big players out.”
