Former PDP Vice Presidential candidate and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning over the Pandora Papers report which mentioned his name.
The presidency has directed all relevant law agencies, including the EFCC, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, and the Code of Conduct Bureau to investigate all Nigerians whose secret, many times suspicious, dealings were exposed in Pandora Papers series
Obi has been asked by the EFCC during the week to report at the agency’s Abuja headquarters on October 27th.
The report alleged that Obi incorporated offshore holdings, which he did not declare to the Code of Conduct Bureau when he served as a Governor and how he continued to manage his Next International UK Limited 14 months after becoming a Governor and that he also continued to operate a foreign account as Governor.
But Obi has come out to deny any wrongdoing and called the report of the paper false.
