No casualties reported yet as information is yet sketchy.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.
However, Maiduguri has been the site of militant activity in recent years with Boko Haram and Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) having committed armed raids and suicide bombings in the city.
