FHA DEMOLISHES HOUSES BELONGING TO IGBO TRADERS IN FESTAC PHASE 2 ABULE ADO
This is not the best of time for house owners at Festac phase 2, Abule Ado Estate, Amuwo odofin Local Government Area of Lagos state as Federal Housing Authority (FHA) official were seen demolishing some beautiful edifices belonging to mostly Igbo traders.
The demolition started around 05:00 am.
The FHA said the owners of the houses did not get proper documents to own the land where those houses were built and that the houses were built without approved.
A situation where houses were built on right of way, and other designated places other than building of houses should not be allowed by the government as long as it is not in accordance with the plan of the area in question.
A simple check by a Laywer at a cost of less than N50, 000 could have avoided all these wastes of money and resources.
People should always confirm the title of any property before they venture into them because if one trespass on a land belonging to the government, the Government will come for it someday.
One wonder who sold those lands to the unsuspecting traders and where were the FHA officials when those houses were being built.
This is unfortunately the hard truth; I sincerely sympathize with property owners in that axis.
