Thompson Usiyan, a former Nigerian footballer has died in the United State at the of 65.
Usiyan who played for the Green Eagles spent most of his football career abroad while playing for the Nigerian national team in the 1970s
He died two weeks after the death of another ex-international, Segun Adeleke died in the US too.
According to his family, he died in his Redonda Beach home, California, the United States on the 31st of August 2021 around 12:15 p.m.
The cause of his death remains unknown as the family did not disclose that.
Usiyan came to the limelight with the then Midwestern State academicals before he got an invitation to the senior national team.
The late striker was the leading goal scorer for the Green Eagles before he decided to leave for the United States to further his studies.
