Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has opened up about his alleged beef with AY Makun.
The two comedians have never worked together, making people believe they don’t have a cordial relationship.
In a recent interview on Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s Black Box Interview series on Bounce Radio, Ebuka raised the issue of the alleged beef between him and AY and Basketmouth had this to say:
“I don’t mess around with loyalty. He came into my space and messed around with loyalty.
“He said something that he wasn’t supposed to say. That was going to cause a rift between me and this person.
“It was Magmus (Umeri), my lawyer. I said something to AY, and he told Magmus, and he wasn’t supposed to say it.
“We made peace and he apologised,”
On the speculation that he fell out with AY because he took Bovi from AY, he said: “I did not snatch Bovi. Bovi is not a girl,” adding that he met Bovi for the first time at a comedy event in Abuja, and from there, they became friends.
They did lots of shows together, but recently, it seems they have gone their separate ways. When prompted by Ebuke, he said:
“Hustle, everybody is hustling; Bovi stepped into a new world. He is busy, and he does not have my time. Me, I’m hustling”
On his future plans, he said he has something cooking which will happen in 2022 titled ‘The Voices in my Head’, promising that it’s going to be he bomb.
