The 12 detained associates of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho are still languishing in the cells of the Department of State Services (DSS) despite the bail granted them on Wednesday by a Federal High Court, Abuja.
but their lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said they may regain their freedom on Monday.
He said the conditions are stringent and could not be immediately met but said efforts were being made to perfect the bail by Monday.
They misinterpreted the bail conditions read by the judge as according to Olajengbesi they had thought they needed to produce just four sureties for the detainees to regain freedom, only to be told they need to produce 2 sureties for each of the detainees.
“We had thought that, by the judge’s pronouncement in the open court, we were required to produce only four sureties. But when we sought clarification later, we were told we need to produce two sureties for each of them,” Olajengbesi said in Abuja.
