Ikwuano Decides: We’re simply voting for our Freedom not candidates, LP’s Isienyi tells Ikwuano

The Labour Party (LP) candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Boniface N. Isienyi has urged the youths of Ikwuano local Government Area to endeavour to shun violence but be law abiding in the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly election.

The Nchara born son gave this charge yesterday, in Umuahia, the state’s capital, during an interface with newsmen, stressing that election ought to be a friendly exercise devoid of violence, and all forms of breakdown of Law.

Isienyi, in his remarks disclosed that the exercise which comes up in a fraction of days, should be a time to turn around the captivity of the Constituency, saying that Ikwuano deserves an effective representation.

The LP candidate who is embittered by the glaring absence of Government presence in Ikwuano, noted that his ambition to represent the the people is driven by a burning zeal in his heart to revamp the area with the Constituency allowance, thus giving it a remarkable facelift.

He, therefore, appealed to the youths of the Council not to allow themselves be used for thuggery by the opposition which, he regretted had subjected the people to abject poverty, over the years.

He further argued why some overzealous politicians in Ikwuano have flown their children abroad and resorted to use youths from other families as thugs to achieve their selfish desires, adding, “it hurts when we see our youths get involved in thuggery during elections which produce the wrong candidates. They use intimidation to gain power and when they assume office, they become in accessible.

Speaking further, the candidate who is bothered about the condition of the council, described godfatherism as a factor that had held Ikwuano and Abia State in general, in downright bondage and frustration, as he noted that Labour Party remained the only party devoid of the said factor.
Continuing, the passionate Ikwuano youth said, “Please, it’s high time my fellow youths of Ikwuano realise that we must change the narrative and the only narrative is a candidate without a godfather, who will misguide one on how to wrongly use funds meant for the Constituency.

“I feel deeply in my heart that there is need to inform umu- Ikwuano to shun violet in this upcoming election. They should not allow themselves be used by PDP as agents of crime.
We have suffered enough in their hands”, he wailed.

He implored the people of Ikwuano to come out en mass to vote the Labour Party candidates at both levels, describing them as vessels of honour who have been anointed by God Almighty to wipe away their tears and end their sorrows.

“We have unfinished business to conclude come 11 March 2023. We must vote to prove the whole World that PETER OBI won the 25th February Presidential Election. Remember we are not just voting for the candidates. We are simply voting for our Freedom.”
