Kylian Mbappe has said that he is willing and ready to walk away from the France national team if his presence in the team was becoming a problem for the team.
Mbappe was accused of being the reason the France team crashed out of the Euro after missing a penalty against Switzerland. That led to some fans to call him a “monkey”. That had deeply angered and troubled the World cup winner.
“From the moment where I felt like I was starting to become a problem and that people felt I was a problem. The most important thing is the French national team and if the French national team is happier without me, it is like that.
“I received the message, that my ego was what made us lose, that I wanted to take up too much space, and that without me, therefore, we might have won.
“What I wanted support around was over being called a “monkey” for missing a penalty. Not for missing the penalty, that’s my fault.”
