Death toll has risen to 45 as more bodies were recovered as death toll rises to 45 in the weekend attacks on Madamai and Kacecere villages of Kaura and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
42 persons were confirmed killed in the attacks that took place in the two councils.
Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who led of the state government officials and senior security officers to the troubled areas yesterday, said the three bodies were recovered from the two villages.
Aruwan said, “Following the weekend attacks in Madamai and Kacecere villages of Kaura and Zangon Kataf local government areas, security agencies on Tuesday recovered three more corpses.
“According to security agencies, two corpses were recovered in Madamai while one was found in Kacecere. The search-and-rescue operation is still in progress and the government will continue to update the public.”
