Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cabana was released yesterday after spending 24 hours in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.
His friend and colleague, Onwumelu Valentine, made this known through his Instagram page yesterday evening.
Valentine wrote: “Thank u, Jesus!! @obi_cubana is free. We gat Jesus!!! Dis Dance is for all my fans. I love u all.”
Obi Cubana made a post on his Instagram page too, he wrote: “Okpataozueora! I love you all! Unbroken #manoftheyear2021.”
We were made to understand that he was released on administrative bail.
Though the EFCC plans to prosecute for sundry economic and financial offences, the trial would not commence any time soon as there were many issues for which Obinna would be charged.
The charges are those bordering on abuse of the naira, tax fraud and money laundering.
The EFCC had on Monday invited Obi Cuban to its head office to answer questions bordering on tax fraud and money laundering.
