PRESIDENT BUHARI JETS OUT TO LONDON TODAY FOR A “SCHEDULED MEDICAL FOLLOW-UP”

President Muhammadu Buhari will leave for London on Friday for a ‘scheduled medical follow-up.’

The President and members of his family routinely travel to the UK for medical treatment as the country can’t boast of any medical facility to cater for their health.

The last time the President travelled to the UK for medical check-up was on March 30th when the medical doctors in Nigeria were on strike, which led to protest in London by Nigerians living there and he returned in April.

Criticisms have always followed such trips which Nigerians termed “Medical tourism” but the President and his family were not moved by such criticisms which has been the hallmark since he took over the leadership of the country six years ago.

The President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, confirmed the latest trip in a statement in Abuja on Thursday. According to him: “He is due back in the country during the second week of July, 2021.”
