Tiwa Savage has released an Extended Play (EP) titled ‘Water and Garri’ with five songs in it.
In those songs, Tiwa featured Americans; Nas, Rich King, Brandy, Ghanaian Amaarae and Nigerian Tay Iwar.
Let’s see what the EP is all about.
‘Work Fada’ is the first song of the EP. It is reflective and preaches hard work.
The featured Nas and Rich King. It began with a soft tune and with Tiwa’s soft vocals on point with “hazy boy, hazy boy.”
The song admonishes youths to go find wisdom, extolls the virtue of hard work and the reality of the ‘unpredicted path we walk’, ‘Walé Omo!’
‘Ade Ori’ is the shortest song on the EP, it’s very emotional, sensual and expresses the need to love and the pain of letting go.
Ade Ori tends to be more personal to Tiwa considering her past love experiences.
TALES BY MOON LIGHT
Tales by Moonlight which featured Amaarae was named after the popular programme on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network for kids.
In this song, Tiwa talked about a certain ‘Shine Shine Bobo’.
‘Somebody’s Son’ features Brandy and is the hit song of the EP. The energy is top notch with a high tempo and it’s danceable.
People love dancing and this is the right song for those that can groove.
It’s an open secret that Tiwa sees Brandy as her role model and one of the reasons why she is into music. The collaboration between the two lovely singers has been long awaited. In “Somebody’s Son”, their combination is awesome.
‘Special Kinda’ featuring Tay Iwar is a love song.
Tay did justice to the song with his unique and cool way.
