One Bisi Omoniyi, 25, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun Police Command for allegedly killing a 50-year-old man at his woman friend’s house.
Omoniyi was arrested following a distress call received by the Police in Owode Egbado Divisional Headquarters that a young man has macheted man to death in Ajilete town in Yewa North Local Government Area.
Ogun State Police Command Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Sunday, in Abeokuta, that following the distress call, the DPO Owode Egbado, CSP Olabisi Elebute, sent his men to scene and arrested the suspect.
The victim was confirmed dead on arrival on taking him to the hospital.
The state Police Spokesman revealed that the victim, Akinyemi Wahab Alani, a.k.a Ajiolopon, had visited his mistress, one Kafayat Sakariyau, to pass a night at Ajilete. The suspect also came to the house of the woman to pass the too but was denied entry as another man is already in there.
The suspect forced his way into the woman’s room and met the deceased and fight ensued between them and in the process the suspect picked a cutlass in the room and macheted the victim to death.
According to the Spokesman: “The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the general hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, while the woman in the centre of the crisis has since fled.”
